Vanderbilt’s tuition tops $50,000 | tennessean.com | The Tennessean

A few items to consider if you choose to read the article

1. The article is mistitled-it is not the tuition that exceeds $50K; it is the total cost of attendance

2. The financial aid program at Vanderbilt is exceptional. I have a son there and at another public SEC school and the difference in financial aid availability that is not loan based is tremendous.

3. While the article talks about the high end, the greater concern is the cost at the low to mid end of the spectrum. That is where most of our students attend and they will form the bulk of our future workforce.

4. We need to find ways to keep college affordable.

The continuing escalation of costs will make the availability difficult.
