I don’t think they are looking for employees who have lots of experience working in Detroit. I suspect they are looking for fresh perspectives.
It is really unfortunate how Labor and Management took turns shooting each other in the foot in this industry. I think it is important to recognize that BOTH contributed to their downfall. You cannot just blame labor for the depth of the problems.
I have many friends who are lifetime UAW members and they just shake their head when they talk about some of the decisions they saw implemented in their auto careers.
