Sadly, not enough of our representatives share the congressman’s views, despite the fact that Americans’ support for health reform as it’s currently proposed continues to fall. Looks like House and Senate leadership is going to ram it through anyway. (And the idea that Republicans are being obstructionist is a red herring, pure and simple. The Democrats have the votes in both chambers to pass a bill. If for some reason one fails to pass, it’ll be because they couldn’t keep enough of their own members on the farm.)
Clearly our representatives believe we work for them. It’s up to us to remind them next November that it’s the other way around.
