Tennessee Biotech focuses on the Niches
I encourage you to read the entire article I am referencing from the Memphis Daily News. The article focuses on the national picture of the Biotech world and how many overlook the advances that have been made in our state. I feel like this article does a great job of focusing on the successes we have had in this state, especially those in Memphis, lead by the Memphis Bioworks Foundation, under the leadership of Steve Bares.
The article also touches upon the work of Leslie Wisner-Lynch, the Executive Director of the BioTN Foundation, and also one of the founders of Biomimetic Therapeutics, a Franklin, TN based success story in the life sciences arena.
There is significant work going on in this state in the Biofuels area, and Kelly Tiller is one of the leaders of this effort.
It is easy to let others in far removed places such as New York, Boston and San Diego do our thinking for us. I prefer to be here, under the radar, watching the great work of people like those mentioned in this article, and many more, who are forging ahead to bring the jobs of tomorrow to Tennessee.
