Sim Center in Chattanooga

utchattanoogaThe University of Tennessee in Chattanooga announced the Sim Center several months ago and I think you will find the video shown here to be a good description of the value and need that this project brings.

Our country is lagging in the production of engineering and technical talent and we need to take action immediately to remain competitive with our world neighbors. The Sim Center is a step in that direction.

  1. Hi,

Read your article, and my husband is a displaced automotive mechanical engineer with a solid background in quality control and project management, and he cannot find a job for the life of him. He applied for several positions at the new Volkswagon facility in Chatanooga, but only received thanks but no thanks letters. Where are the jobs for mechanical engineers with automotive backgrounds?

    • I’ve read for years that America doesn’t graduate enough engineers and scientists. I’ve had my undergrad for about 2 years and would like to dispel that myth. My degree is in civil, but there are mechanicals, electricals and chemicals in this nation that have spend months, like me, just looking for an engineering job. To remain competitive in the engineering world we first need to have jobs for people who are engineers.
