Facebook Traffic nearing Google & Yahoo
It is not a surprise to most of you to learn that Facebook is the largest social network. What may come as a surprise is that Facebook’s unique visitors are getting close to that of Google according to an article on Techcrunch from Compete. During May Facebook surpassed the number of unique visitors for MSN and Yahoo, a startling fact.
What effect will this have on the Internet and social networks? For one thing, it will increase the value of Facebook and also increase their ability to grow their advertising revenue. I personally believe it will lead to a stampede of firms to establish a presence on FB versus other former web giants like the MSN and Yahoo and further validate the social network model that FB is employing.
Add to this the fact that FB will offer unique usernames and it is a recipe for success at FB and disaster in other places.
