A day of rest
This has been an enjoyable day! It got started on the right foot as my wife and I attended services at our church here in Franklin and we then proceeded to have a great lunch of Cajun food with most of the members of our small group from church. It is really hard to beat good food and good company.
After lunch I collapsed in the chair from a carb coma and rested for a few hours, reading a little from my current book of the month and also catching scenes from ” A Few Good Men” a great movie to use for training. The next step was 35 minutes on the bicycle and some abdominal exercises at the local YMCA.
I am sometimes not good, in fact usually not good at all, at getting adequate rest. Today has been an exception and I hope it will be a good start to a busy week. I am sometimes not a good follower of the advice I provide to others about moderating their work and their rest, but today was one time when I did what I said I would do.
I will talk more about the book I am reading in coming days. It is entitled “A General’s Life” and is an autobiography about Omar Bradley, one of the most beloved and effective generals in the history of our country. I have a great interest in leadership, especially in leadership during troubled times. I have read a number of books about Eisenhower and also have read parts of a book written about Churchill, another outstanding leader.
Leadership is very seasonal and what works during one “season” may not work during another. More to come on this.
I hope you have had a restful day and I wish you the best in the coming week!

Dan,
Great insight. There is no one size fits all leader!

This is so true and it is a painful learning for those who are not aware of that fact!
